Youssouf Fofana has completed a significant move from AS Monaco to AC Milan, a transition that sees the 25-year-old French midfielder embarking on a new chapter in his flourishing career. Fofana, who joined Monaco in 2020 and quickly rose to prominence within Ligue 1, has inked a four-year deal with the Serie A stalwarts, extending his stay with the Italian club until 2028.
During his tenure at Monaco, Fofana was pivotal in the team's impressive performances, notably last season where he helped secure a second-place finish in the league. His contributions included scoring four goals and providing four assists across 36 matches. Known for his robust physical presence and technical skills, Fofana evolved into a central figure in Monaco’s setup, especially following his dynamic partnership with fellow midfielder Aurélien Tchouaméni.
The transfer, valued at around 25 million euros, was clinched by AC Milan amid considerable interest from several top English clubs. Fofana, who has already earned 21 caps and scored three goals for the French national team, is set to don the number 29 jersey at Milan. Under the guidance of coach Paulo Fonseca, he is expected to play a vital role in the Rossoneri's midfield strategy.
