UK to Require Electronic Travel Authorisation for Monegasque Visitors Starting April 2025

Starting from April 2, 2025, Monegasque citizens planning short stays in the United Kingdom will be required to obtain an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) prior to departure. This new mandate affects all travelers from Monaco, encompassing tourism, business, or transit purposes, as part of the UK's initiative to enhance border security while maintaining accessibility for visa-exempt nations.

The ETA application portal will be accessible from March 5, 2025, giving Monegasque nationals ample time to comply before the stipulated deadline. The requirement extends to all individuals, including infants and children, whose applications must be handled by their parents. Exceptions are made for those who possess a current UK visa, a residence permit, or those who intend to stay for more than six months under a student or work visa.

To apply, travelers must submit necessary personal and passport details through an official online portal or a mobile application. The application fee is set at £10, and the ETA is valid for two years, subject to reapplication upon passport renewal. Given the critical nature of this requirement, potential visitors to the UK are advised to apply well in advance of their intended travel date to mitigate any unforeseen delays.
