In a ceremony that underscored the longstanding ties between the Principality of Monaco and the Sovereign Order of Malta, key Monegasque figures were honored with decorations from the Pro Merito Melitensi Order of Chivalry on Monday, December 2. The event highlighted the deep-rooted connections and shared values between the two entities, dating back to the official establishment of relations in 1957 and their elevation to diplomatic status in 2007.
During the ceremony, H.E. Alberto di Luca, the Ambassador of the Sovereign Order of Malta to Monaco, awarded the Cross Pro Merito Melitensi with Plaque to Isabelle Berro-Amadeï, Monaco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation. The same honor with Crown distinction was bestowed upon Isabelle Rosabrunetto, Director General of the Department of External Relations and Cooperation, and Marie-Catherine Caruso-Ravera, Director of Diplomatic and Consular Relations, recognizing their efforts in fostering the partnership between Monaco and the Order.
The ceremony was attended by prestigious figures including Christophe Steiner, Chief of Staff to H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince; H.E. Jean d’Haussonville, French Ambassador to Monaco; and leaders from various consular and diplomatic corps. Established in 1920, the Pro Merito Melitensi Order of Chivalry is awarded to individuals who have significantly contributed to the honor and prestige of the Sovereign Order of Malta, reflecting shared commitments in combating global challenges such as poverty, disease, and inequality.
