Prince Albert II Advocates for Sustainable Innovation at Singapore's Ocean Event

During the 8th edition of the Ocean Innovators Platform in Singapore, HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco highlighted sustainable solutions for the blue economy. The event, organized annually by the Prince Albert II Foundation, took place at Marina Bay Sands and drew attention to the burgeoning sector dedicated to ocean sustainability. Olivier Wenden, Vice-President of the Foundation, opened the event emphasizing the urgency to invest in technologies that address oceanic challenges and sustain Monaco's leadership in the blue economy.

Discussions at the platform centered around sustainable finance and innovative blue tech solutions. Distinguished participants from venture capital and private equity, such as Douglas Hansen-Luke of Future Planet Capital, and Jérémy Genin of Monaco Asset Management, delved into topics including sustainable aquaculture and plastic alternatives. Additionally, a session moderated by Caroline Guyot featured Janice-Renee Yoshioka, who shared strategies on fostering a regenerative blue economy.

In his concluding address, Prince Albert underscored the dual benefits of ecological impact and financial viability in sustainable ocean ventures. He stressed the importance of investing in areas like sustainable aquaculture and marine biodiversity restoration, urging stakeholders to balance ambition with practicality to achieve both conservation goals and economic gains.
