HSH Prince Albert and HSH Princess Charlene, in their capacity as champions of animal welfare, officially unveiled Monaco's latest advancement in animal protection, a new shelter in Peille. The inauguration ceremony, occurring on Monday, was attended by an array of dignitaries from both Monaco and France, including SPA board members and local officials, highlighting the cross-border commitment to animal welfare.
This new facility represents a key achievement following the royal couple's initial laying of the foundation stone exactly two years prior, on September 12, 2022. The completion of this project underscores Monaco’s ongoing dedication to the well-being of abandoned and mistreated animals, mirroring the principality's broader humanitarian values.
Strategically located 700 meters above sea level, the shelter integrates seamlessly into its natural surroundings, providing refuge for up to 40 dogs and 50 cats, in addition to other pets and birds. This development not only enhances the capacity to care for animals in need but also strengthens the bond between the community and its commitment to safeguarding all forms of life.
