At the prestigious 40th annual Princess Grace Awards in New York’s Pierre Hotel, HSH Prince Albert of Monaco, together with his daughter Jazmin Grace Grimaldi, celebrated the achievements of young American talents in film, theatre, and dance. The event, held on October 23, also honored Oscar-winning actor Michael Douglas with the Prince Rainier III Prize, recognizing his outstanding contributions to the arts and philanthropy. Douglas, accompanied by his sons Cameron and Dylan, accepted the award from Prince Albert—a testament to his enduring relationship with the Principality and its cultural initiatives.
The gala, a highlight in the Monaco royal family’s calendar, underscores the Foundation’s commitment to nurturing artistic excellence. This year, the ceremony reintroduced the Princess Grace Statue Award, with screenwriter Branden Jacobs-Jenkins and theatre director Lila Neugebauer each receiving a $25,000 grant. In total, 18 emerging artists were celebrated for their accomplishments, alongside 11 additional honorary recognitions, reflecting the Foundation's expansive support for the arts.
Jazmin Grace Grimaldi's appearance on the red carpet, where she has been relatively private in recent years, marked a significant moment. Continuing her engagement with the American arts scene, her presence alongside her father highlights the deep ties between Monaco’s royal family and the global performing arts community. This event not only honors the legacy of Princess Grace but also reinforces the cultural bridge between Monaco and the United States.
