For the first time, the Yacht Club de Monaco (YCM) will participate in the celebrated Admiral’s Cup, as the esteemed regatta resumes after a 22-year suspension. Scheduled from July 17 to August 1 in Cowes, Isle of Wight, this year’s event promises a robust lineup of challenging races, including the renowned Rolex Fastnet Race. The inclusion of YCM, under the guidance of club member Peter Harrison and vice-president Pierre Casiraghi, highlights Monaco’s growing influence in competitive sailing.
YCM will field two competitive yachts for the races: the TP52 Jolt 3, led by Peter Harrison, and the Carkeek 40 Jolt 6, under the command of Pierre Casiraghi. They are supported by a prominent crew featuring Boris Herrmann and Will Harris from Team Malizia, and Cole Brauer, an accomplished American sailor. This formidable team underscores YCM’s commitment to excellence in the high-stakes environment of offshore yacht racing.
The Admiral’s Cup, returning with more than 15 teams from prestigious global yacht clubs, will provide a platform for YCM to demonstrate its capabilities against top international competition. As Monaco steps onto this significant stage, the performance of YCM will be keenly watched by sailing enthusiasts and club members eager to see their representatives excel in one of the sport’s most challenging contests.
