Monaco Wins Best European Destination 2025 Title from European Best Destinations

Monaco has been named the Best European Destination for 2025 by the prestigious European Best Destinations (EBD), a notable tourism promotion organization affiliated with the European Commission. This accolade marks a significant achievement for the Principality, enhancing its status as a top-tier travel destination on the global stage. In this year's competition, Monaco emerged victorious from a pool of contenders, drawing more than one million votes from around the world, a testament to its enduring appeal and luxurious offerings.

The recognition follows a close second-place finish in 2024 and distinguishes Monaco as the first French-speaking destination to clinch the title since Bordeaux in 2015. The 2025 contest saw active participation from 170 countries, with a substantial number of votes coming from the United States and the United Kingdom, which accounted for 42 percent and 34 percent of the votes respectively. This broad international engagement underscores Monaco’s allure as a leader in luxury and sustainable tourism, bolstered by its vibrant culture and unique geographical setting.

The award, facilitated by the Monaco Tourism and Convention Authority’s collaboration with EBD, promises to boost Monaco's visibility across key global media and travel publications. It also allows the local tourism and hospitality sectors to leverage the prestigious “Best European Destination” label in their promotions. Guy Antognelli, Director of Tourism and Conventions, emphasized the award as a reflection of the collective efforts from Monaco’s tourism professionals and related sectors in maintaining high standards of quality and innovation, further solidifying the Principality's exemplary reputation in international tourism.
