Monaco Unveils Collège Charles III in Ceremony Attended by Royalty and Dignitaries

Monaco has inaugurated the new Collège Charles III, a beacon of modern education, on September 12. The opening ceremony was attended by HSH Prince Albert, Princess Charlene, and various dignitaries, marking a milestone in the Principality's commitment to educational excellence. Minister of State Didier Guillaume described the event as a significant and symbolic moment for Monaco.

The newly constructed facility, which took nearly 13 years to complete, showcases an architectural and environmental milestone, spanning 23,805 square meters, designed to serve 1,200 to 1,500 students. The college offers an impressive suite of facilities including a gymnasium, swimming pool, 300-seat amphitheater, and a media library, emphasizing a holistic educational approach where students can engage in both academic and extracurricular activities.

Highlighting the innovative design by local architects Christian Curau and François Lallemand, the college stands on a 250-meter plot and features a 1,300-ton steel frame. It is built with a focus on sustainability and efficient use of space, characteristic of Monaco's urban landscape. In his address, Minister Guillaume urged students to utilize these resources fully, fostering curiosity, creativity, and personal growth, thus enhancing the educational landscape in Monaco.
