This Sunday, November 24, the streets of Monaco's Port Hercule will come alive with the annual Beking bike race. This event, now in its fourth year, not only showcases professional cyclists from the local area but also welcomes amateurs and families to participate. The race serves a dual purpose: promoting cycling as a sustainable mode of transportation and raising funds for various charitable causes. Participants and spectators are encouraged to visit the Beking Events official website for more details on the event itinerary.
Traffic flow in Monaco will be significantly altered to facilitate the race route. On the day of the event, from early morning at 04:00 until 18:30, several key thoroughfares will be closed, including Quai des États-Unis and sections of Avenue JF Kennedy, as well as Route de la Piscine and Quai Sud. Controlled two-way traffic will be maintained on Quai Jules Soccal as the race progresses. Moreover, Boulevard Albert I will only allow service road access and implement a one-way system on Quai Antoine I, directing traffic from the Rocher Noghès tunnel towards Esplanade des Pêcheurs.
In preparation for the race, parking will be restricted in several areas starting from Friday, November 22. Prohibited zones include Quai des États-Unis, Route de la Piscine, and parts of Quai Antoine I, with restrictions extending until the early hours of November 25. Public transport will also adjust, with CAM bus line no. 1 rerouted via Avenue d’Ostende, and temporary bus stops established to accommodate displaced commuters. The MonaBike electric bicycle station at Darse Nord will continue to operate, ensuring alternatives for public mobility are available.
