Monaco Sets 2027 Target for Full Digital Transition in Public Services

Monaco is poised to enhance its digital infrastructure by enabling online payments for all public services by 2027, a move aimed at streamlining governmental processes and enhancing user convenience. This initiative was highlighted during recent debates in the National Council, reflecting the Principality's commitment to a comprehensive digital transformation. The plan, as outlined by Monaco-Matin, includes a phased integration of various public service departments into the digital fold.

National Council member Franck Julien acknowledged the strides made in digitalization while pointing out the existing hurdles in achieving these technological advancements. He stressed the importance of setting clear milestones to provide citizens with a transparent timeline and reassurance about the ongoing digital shifts. His comments underline the government's acknowledgment of the complexities involved in such a widespread digital transition, encompassing financial, operational, and temporal aspects.

Responding to these concerns, Frédéric Genta, the interministerial delegate for Attractiveness and Digital Transition, presented a detailed roadmap. Genta outlined significant projects including the recent launch of the Directorate of Labor's digital platform, and upcoming initiatives for the digitalization of tax services and the Traffic Titles Service, all slated for completion by 2027. This strategic planning indicates a methodical approach to achieving a fully digital public service landscape, promising a future where residents can manage all service payments online, thereby aligning Monaco with global digital standards.
