Monaco Set to Host 118th Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters with Notable Enhancements

Monaco is set to host the illustrious 118th Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters from April 5 to April 13, promising several enhancements to bolster the event's prestige. In a recent press briefing at the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort, Tournament Director David Massey detailed significant updates and the anticipation surrounding the tournament, scheduled at the esteemed Monte-Carlo Country Club's clay courts. The event, a highlight of the ATP Masters 1000 series, draws parallels with the Monaco Grand Prix in terms of its significance and allure.

Massey revealed that the draw ceremony is slated for April 4, featuring defending champion Stefanos Tsitsipas, and will be broadcast live. Although the official player roster will be confirmed later, expectations are high for top-tier participation. Last year, the tournament attracted over 148,000 spectators and reached a global TV audience of 36 million, alongside substantial social media engagement. Enhancements for this edition include the transformation of the Monte-Carlo Beach Club into a private Players’ Village, offering exceptional facilities for athletes. Spectator experience will also see improvements with better transportation options and enhanced on-site services.

Adding to the technological advancements, this year’s tournament will introduce Hawk-Eye technology and Video Review, marking a first in its history to ensure fair play and resolve disputes over line calls. The event continues its partnership with long-standing sponsors such as Rolex and BNP Paribas, and welcomes new sponsor Oliver Peoples. Commemorative efforts include renaming Court No. 2 to Court Elizabeth-Ann de Massy, honoring a key figure in Monaco’s tennis history. The tournament also maintains its commitment to philanthropy with the “Points for Change” campaign supporting cancer research and will host the cherished Children’s Day and the Grande Nuit du Tennis, enhancing both community engagement and competitive spirit.
