In a remarkable display of sailing prowess, Emirates Team New Zealand, led by Yacht Club de Monaco (YCM) member Matteo de Nora, triumphed at the 37th America’s Cup in Barcelona, underscoring Monaco’s significant presence in the international sailing arena. The team's decisive victory over Ineos Britannia, helmed by fellow YCM member Sir Jim Ratcliffe, highlighted the skill and determination of Monaco's representatives on the global stage.

The final race, attended by HSH Prince Albert, President of YCM, and his nephew Pierre Casiraghi, Vice-President of YCM, was a proud moment for the Principality. YCM’s Secretary General, Bernard d’Alessandri, praised the competitors, acknowledging the fierce competition provided by Ineos Britannia and celebrating the unmatched record of Emirates Team New Zealand in the history of the America’s Cup.

This win marks the third consecutive and fifth overall victory for Emirates Team New Zealand in the America’s Cup, reinforcing their dominance in the sport. Their mastery of the AC75 vessels and adept handling of the challenging conditions in Barcelona's waters were key to their success. For Monaco and its prestigious Yacht Club, the triumph not only celebrates the exceptional achievements of their members but also strengthens the Principality’s esteemed position in elite international sailing.
