Two Monaco Town Hall teams have joined the fray of the 8th edition of the E-Rally Monte-Carlo, a highlight of the Bridgestone FIA ecoRally Cup 2024 emphasizing sustainable mobility. This year’s rally, organized by the Automobile Club of Monaco, commenced on Wednesday, October 23, propelling participants across a challenging and undisclosed course of 14 regularity stages and 250 kilometers through the picturesque French departments of Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, Alpes-Maritimes, and Var.
Highlighting the rally, Monaco’s Deputy Mayor Jacques Pastor, alongside Fulvio Gazzola, Mayor of Dolceacqua, are competing in a Kia EV6—the same model that clinched them victory in the previous year. This participation coincides with the first anniversary of Monaco’s twinning with Dolceacqua, adding a layer of diplomatic camaraderie to the competition. Another Monaco team, featuring Serge Pastor, Technical Director of Monaco’s Municipal Garage, and Christophe Ponset, his predecessor, is challenging the course in a Kia E-Niro.
The event is set to conclude on Saturday, October 26, at midday, marking an end to a rigorous test of precision driving and efficient energy management. Alongside Monaco’s Town Hall teams, the “Daghe Mùnegu” team, which includes representatives from Monaco’s Urban Planning Department, the Public Force of Monaco, and the Monaco Yacht Club, also competes, underscoring the principality's commitment to promoting sustainable mobility solutions.
