Monaco's Roca Team Triumphs Over Maccabi Tel Aviv for Second Euroleague Victory

In a thrilling display of resilience and skill, AS Monaco Basket, commonly known as the Roca Team, secured its second consecutive Euroleague victory by overcoming Maccabi Tel Aviv 85-79 at the Gaston-Médecin Hall. The victory comes despite a challenging start to the season and setbacks including the absence of key players Nick Calathes and Furkan Korkmaz due to injuries. The team's ability to rally in the second half proved decisive, turning around a game that began with a five-point deficit at the end of the first quarter.

The match faced external challenges as well, with lower attendance attributed to severe weather conditions on the Côte d’Azur and increased security measures due to the game's high-risk classification by the Monegasque government. These factors did not deter the Roca Team; under the guidance of head coach Sasa Obradovic, the players showed commendable focus and determination. Particularly notable was the performance of Elie Okobo, who scored all of his 17 points in the second half, playing a pivotal role in clinching the win.

Looking ahead, Monaco faces a formidable opponent in Barcelona on October 16. The team's performance against Maccabi has set a positive tone, but continuous improvement will be crucial for maintaining their momentum in the Euroleague. The Roca Team's ability to overcome adversity and secure important wins continues to keep their hopes alive in the competition.
