Monaco's Princess Grace Hospital Denies Being World's Most Expensive

The Princess Grace Hospital Center (CHPG) in Monaco has robustly countered a recent assertion by the online platform Hello Safe, which labeled it as the world's most expensive hospital. This characterization, derived from an October 12 article, has been officially refuted by the hospital, denouncing the report as misleading and a propagation of "fake news." Hospital officials criticized the study's lack of clarity and reliability in its evaluation methods, which positioned CHPG at the pinnacle of global hospitalization costs at an alleged 3,065 euros per day for uninsured patients.

CHPG's leadership promptly clarified that such figures are grossly inflated compared to their actual charges. They pointed to the publicly accessible rates listed in Monaco’s official publication, Journal de Monaco, where the daily rate for general medical hospitalization is significantly lower at 955.11 euros. This rate is not only much less than what was reported by Hello Safe but also comparatively lower than similar costs in France for those covered by Monégasque social insurance.

Amidst concerns over misinformation, the hospital maintains a commitment to transparency and accuracy in its public pricing information. CHPG's management expressed hope that the misleading data might stem from a flawed algorithm rather than deliberate falsehoods, underscoring the challenges posed by online misinformation. They reaffirmed their dedication to patient care and gratitude for continued public trust amidst these confusing reports.
