The New National Museum of Monaco (NMNM) has unveiled its newest exhibition, "Agora," at Villa Sauber, which will remain open to visitors until May 4. This exhibition encapsulates the museum's dedication to the arts over the past 15 years, highlighting its efforts in the collection, preservation, and dissemination of art, as well as its educational and cultural initiatives. "Agora" specifically showcases how the NMNM has been instrumental in linking the community with the realm of art through various innovative programs tailored specifically for residents of Monaco.
Among the featured aspects of the exhibition are successful partnerships with the National Education to engage young minds, artist residencies within schools, and the "Apprentice Collectors" initiative. This particular project involves high school students in the process of selecting artworks for the museum’s collection, including pieces by notable artists such as Portuguese artist Rita Ferreira. Ferreira, whose inclusion in this exhibit was facilitated by a student, remarked on the honor of participating in such an impactful project.
The exhibition also offers a look into the NMNM's digital creation programs and interactive guided tours, which are central to its strategy to broaden art appreciation. Additionally, "Agora" pays homage to Marie-Claude Beaud, celebrating her five decades of career aimed at cultivating new audiences and enhancing the cultural framework of Monaco. This exhibition is not just a reflection of NMNM’s past accomplishments but also an invitation to the public to envision innovative ways of interacting with art.
