Monaco's diplomatic endeavors in Italy and other nations were highlighted during the annual consular meeting at Monaco's embassy in Rome on January 31. The event assembled Monaco’s consuls from Italy and other accredited countries to discuss strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing Monaco's global influence by 2025. A critical focus of the meeting was the forthcoming visits of His Serene Highness Prince Albert II to Italy, aimed at strengthening historical and cultural connections, particularly through the continuation of visits to towns linked with the Grimaldi family. This includes celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Historic Sites of the Grimaldis of Monaco network, with planned collaborations with local Italian officials.
In addition to cultural diplomacy, economic outreach forms a key component of Monaco's strategy. Plans for 2025 include a significant event with Monaco Private Label, designed to bolster Monaco’s appeal to high-net-worth individuals globally. Moreover, Ambassador Anne Eastwood's renewed role within the Executive Committee of the Group of Francophone Ambassadors in Rome underscores Monaco's commitment to the Francophonie, promoting multilingualism and cultural diversity, highlighted by activities such as the annual Francophone Film Festival of Rome.
Ambassador Eastwood also emphasized the expansion of Monaco's diplomatic credentials, with recent accreditations in Croatia, Romania, Malta, and San Marino, enhancing economic and cultural ties across these nations. The meeting concluded with a dinner hosted by Ambassador Eastwood at her residence, where Monaco’s Ambassador to the Holy See, Philippe Orengo, shared insights into Monaco's participation in the Vatican Jubilee celebrations, further illustrating the Principality's active diplomatic engagements.
