The Department of Urban Planning and Mobility (DPUM) in Monaco is embarking on a thoughtful redesign of the historic Condamine district, aiming to boost its functionality and aesthetic appeal. Under the guidance of Pascal Rouanet, the DPUM is meticulously planning to merge the district’s rich heritage with contemporary enhancements. “Our approach recognizes the unique characteristics of Condamine—celebrating areas that embody our heritage while updating parts that will benefit from revitalization,” Rouanet noted.
To facilitate this transformation, the initiative will attract private investments aimed at elevating the quality of life for both residents and visitors. The redevelopment strategy will introduce a set of new regulations that will shape future constructions and renovations. These guidelines will specify the integration of various facilities including office spaces, retail outlets, public amenities, and verdant areas, ensuring all developments are in harmony with the district's new vision.
As the project progresses, DPUM will continuously refine its regulatory framework to encompass detailed requirements concerning building heights, setbacks, and other architectural elements. This evolving set of rules will not only preserve the distinctive charm of La Condamine but also enhance its infrastructure, aligning with Monaco’s broader urban development objectives.
