The 27th edition of Monaco’s Taste and Flavours Day unveiled its unique culinary celebrations at the Hôtel Hermitage’s Belle Époque room, under the auspices of His Serene Highness Prince Albert II. This esteemed event drew students from around the Principality to delve into the virtues of healthy, seasonal eating, guided by eminent chefs and educators. This year's culinary spotlight shone on an intriguing duo of red cabbage and pomegranate, aiming to acquaint the young attendees with distinctive tastes while advocating for nutritious dietary choices.
The initiative presented an engaging blend of educational and interactive experiences. Students were treated to a breakfast featuring the day’s key ingredients, which served as a springboard for their culinary discovery. The event was not just about tasting but also involved hands-on learning with professional chefs who crafted 42 different dishes, including pomegranate sorbet and innovative red cabbage pastries. This approach not only introduced students to new flavors but also encouraged them to rethink their dietary preferences and explore food's creative dimensions.
Beyond the initial gathering, the Taste and Flavours Day extends its impact throughout the week with workshops in various educational institutions across Monaco. These sessions are set to further delve into themes of healthy eating habits, minimizing food waste, and appreciating local, seasonal products. A notable session scheduled at the Technical and Hotel School will feature hands-on culinary workshops, led by seasoned chefs. Additionally, with 800 recipe booklets distributed, the event continues to inspire Monaco’s youth towards a future where nutritious and sustainable eating is both a priority and a pleasure.
