Monaco Run Gramaglia Sees Record Turnout, Emphasizes Charity Focus

This weekend, Monaco is set to host the latest edition of the Monaco Run Gramaglia, an event that continues to draw increasing interest with a record-breaking turnout of 3,800 participants. This year, the race not only attracts amateur runners and trail enthusiasts but also high-caliber athletes like the 2024 Olympic triathlon champion Cassandre Beaugrand of AS Monaco Athlétisme. Beaugrand is preparing to compete in a swift 5 km race across the Principality's scenic routes, challenging previous event record holder Likina Amebaw's impressive time of 14 minutes and 35 seconds.

Adding a layer of social responsibility to this year's event, the Monaco Run Gramaglia will contribute to local charities for the first time. Participants' entry fees will benefit four Monegasque organizations: the Monegasque Association for the Protection of Nature, Pink Ribbon Monaco, the Flavien Foundation, and the Monegasque Association Les Enfants de Frankie. This initiative underscores the event's commitment to blending athletic excellence with community support.

Furthermore, the event coincides with the return of the Pink Ribbon Walk, an advocacy and fundraising event for breast cancer awareness and research, particularly supporting the Princess Grace Hospital. Organized by Pink Ribbon Monaco and championed by Honorary President Princess Charlène, the thirteenth annual walk will commence on Sunday, 9 February at 10 am from Port Hercule. Participants are encouraged to don pink attire in solidarity and can register with a contribution of 30 euros either online or at Port Hercule immediately before the event. This dual event highlights Monaco's unique blend of sporting prowess and philanthropic engagement.
