On Friday, December 6, HSH Princess Charlene, Hereditary Prince Jacques, and Princess Gabriella graced the inauguration of the 2024 Christmas Village at the Port of Monaco, alongside Mayor Georges Marsan and other prominent figures. The event, themed "Gingerbread and Holiday Treats," promises a delightful festive experience with 23 gourmet stands, 24 sales chalets, and a variety of attractions including a Ferris wheel and interactive play areas. The season’s festivities were kicked off with a charming dance performance by La Palladienne, set to Christmas melodies.
In his remarks, Mayor Marsan acknowledged the efforts of the staff who are instrumental in the smooth functioning of the Village. The venue offers a packed schedule of entertainment tailored for all ages, featuring Friday evening concerts, weekend creative workshops for children, and daily activities during school holidays. Additionally, the Village hosts strolling performers and stage shows, with a full schedule available on the municipal website.
Monaco’s Christmas Village also underscores the principality’s commitment to environmental sustainability. Decorations crafted from recycled polystyrene, LED lighting on timers, and composting of Christmas trees highlight Monaco’s green initiatives. Additionally, the introduction of eco-friendly measures such as “Mégot Box” stations for cigarette disposal, the elimination of plastic utensils in favor of reusable eco-cups, and options for food waste reduction through "small boxes" for leftovers, align with Monaco’s sustainability goals. The Village will remain open until January 5, 2025, offering a magical and eco-conscious holiday destination.
