An electric car accident occurred on the night of Saturday, November 30, when a vehicle overturned on Boulevard d’Italie, near Marché U in Monaco. The incident involved a local resident who, according to reports, was returning from a social gathering and had allegedly consumed alcohol. Firefighters and Public Safety teams were promptly at the scene to manage the situation and secure the area, ensuring no further risk to public safety.
The driver, whose identity has not been disclosed, explained to the authorities that the accident happened as he swerved too sharply while adhering to the speed limit, leading to the vehicle spinning out of control and flipping onto its side. Despite the dramatic nature of the crash, there were no injuries reported, although the vehicle itself suffered significant damage. Following the incident, the driver was subjected to legal proceedings, facing charges related to driving under the influence and losing control of his vehicle.
This event brings to mind a similar occurrence in March, where two young individuals without a driving license overturned their car at Monaco’s famed Fairmont Hairpin, a notorious segment of the Formula 1 circuit. Luckily, they sustained only minor injuries. These repeated incidents highlight ongoing concerns regarding road safety in the principality, with local authorities continuously advocating for responsible driving to mitigate such accidents in the future.
