In a light-hearted encounter that underscores Monaco's strict adherence to traffic regulations, a man dressed as Spider-Man was recently stopped by local police on Avenue d’Ostende. The incident, which was captured in a video that has since gone viral, shows the costumed figure, later identified as urban acrobat Farid Zitoun, scrambling to present his driver's license to a patiently waiting officer. The unusual traffic stop, involving Zitoun's 200-horsepower Polaris Slingshot, captured the attention of both passersby and online audiences.
Farid Zitoun, 31, gained fame as a finalist on the 2017 edition of "La France a un incroyable talent." Known for his unexpected appearances in various superhero guises, including Batman and Captain America, Zitoun was in Monaco to engage in a live social media broadcast from the iconic Casino Square. This marked his fourth visit to the principality, but his first time donning a superhero costume for his activities.
The encounter with the law ended on a positive note, as the officer, maintaining a sense of humor about the situation, verified Zitoun's identification and vehicle documents. Zitoun, who had to momentarily remove his mask for the identity check, complied with all requests, ensuring his vehicle was not impounded. Following the verification, he was allowed to proceed to his destination at Casino Square, though he opted to continue without his Spider-Man costume.
