Monaco recently hosted a groundbreaking event on International Women's Sports Day, focusing on the Motorsport Edition at the Prince's Car Collection. The initiative, held on January 24, was aimed at inspiring the Principality's young women, introducing them to career pathways in motorsport. The event saw participation from local students and featured talks by prominent figures like F1 Academy Competition Manager Delphine Biscaye and World Rally Vice-Champion Michèle Mouton, emphasizing the potential and importance of female presence in this dynamic field.
The highlight of the event was the launch of "100 Years of Women: Motorsport & Monaco", a significant publication by Monaco's first entirely female-owned Carob Tree Publishing. This 240-page book, celebrating a century of women's achievements in motorsport, includes 65 inspiring stories and a special chapter on Monaco's role in promoting women in the industry. Acknowledging the historical and ongoing contributions of women, the book aims to empower and educate, with students attending the event receiving a complimentary copy.
The day concluded with a cocktail reception graced by His Serene Highness Prince Albert II, underscoring the support for fostering female talent in motorsport. Organized by key local figures including Martine Ackermann and Valérie Closier, and supported by entities like Iron Dames and the FIA Women in Motorsport Commission, the event solidified Monaco's commitment to inclusivity and diversity in sports, aligning with its designation as the 2025 World Capital of Sport.
