The Principality of Monaco, renowned for its luxury tourism and prestigious events, is undertaking a comprehensive survey to delve into the preferences and spending patterns of its visitors. This initiative, led by the Monaco Government’s Directorate of Tourism and Congresses (DTC) in partnership with the Monegasque Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (IMSEE), seeks to update and expand upon data last collected in 2010. Reflecting changes in travel behaviors over the past decade, this study will encompass a broad spectrum of visitors including cruise passengers, day visitors, and overnight guests.
Participants in the survey will be reached through digital means, with QR codes placed strategically across high-traffic areas such as restaurants, event venues, and the Tourist Office. This modern approach ensures ease of access for tourists to contribute valuable insights concerning their visit purposes, expenditures, and preferred activities within the principality. Such data is instrumental for Monaco's authorities to refine tourism strategies, aiming to cater more effectively to both leisure and business travelers.
Scheduled for release in 2026, the findings from this survey will play a crucial role in shaping the future of Monaco's tourism offerings. By aligning with the evolving expectations of international visitors, the principality plans to enhance its infrastructure and event offerings, thereby reinforcing its stature as a top global destination. This strategic move is expected to sustain and boost Monaco's tourism industry, ensuring its continued appeal to a diverse global audience.
