The Prince’s Government of Monaco has allocated an additional 100,000 euros in emergency aid to Lebanon, building on its ongoing commitment to assist the Middle Eastern nation grappling with severe humanitarian challenges. This funding follows a previous contribution through the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) and aims to address the critical needs in health and education exacerbated by the country’s escalating crisis.
The newly announced funds will be channeled to the Lebanese Association of the Knights of Malta (ALCM) and the Amel International Association (AMEL), both of which are long-standing partners of Monaco in the region. These organizations will focus on enhancing healthcare, protection, and nutrition for those most in need, including over 350,000 children impacted by Lebanon’s worsening social and economic conditions. The aid will be implemented through an established network of health centers and mobile units, ensuring effective delivery of services to affected communities.
Supporting these efforts, the Monegasque Red Cross, endorsed by HSH Prince Albert, has initiated a public fundraising campaign to encourage additional contributions from both local residents and international allies. This initiative underscores Monaco’s comprehensive strategy to provide sustained assistance to Lebanon during its profound and continuing struggles.
