This Sunday, Le Meridien Hotel in Monaco will host the esteemed 30th Grande Bourse Numismatique et Cartophile, attracting coin and postcard collectors from across Europe. The event, organized by the Monaco Numismatic Association (ANM), promises to be a vibrant gathering point with about fifty dealers participating. Christian Billard, president of the ANM, highlighted the synergy between this event and the week's earlier numismatic auctions hosted by Monnaies de collections and Gadoury publishing house, enhancing the collector's experience in the Principality.
The Grande Bourse, which runs from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., reflects a shift towards a more diverse collecting audience since the introduction of the euro, with enthusiasts now collecting beyond their national borders. This year's event not only features an array of coins but also an assortment of memorabilia including postcards, posters, and programs that celebrate Monaco's rich cultural heritage. In a nod to local talent, this year's event poster designed by Delphine Lanzara, which will also be turned into a commemorative stamp, continues a cherished tradition of honoring artists.
Admission to the Grande Bourse is free, offering a day of exploration and appreciation for collectors and enthusiasts alike. This annual event not only serves as a marketplace but also as a cultural showcase, underlining Monaco's stature as a hub for numismatic and cartophilic interests.
