Monaco Hosts Start of 10th Riviera Electric Challenge at EVER 2024

The Riviera Electric Challenge, now in its 10th year, commenced this morning at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco, set against the backdrop of the EVER 2024 exhibition. This eco-conscious electric car rally will conclude on Thursday, November 14, at Château Grimaldi in Cagnes-sur-Mer. The event, orchestrated in partnership with Monaco City Hall, MC2D (Monaco Sustainable Development), and the Italian municipality of Dolceacqua, highlights a collaborative effort across regional borders to promote sustainable transportation.

This year's edition of the challenge features a novel route that guides participants through picturesque terrains of France, Monaco, and Italy, emphasizing the efficient use of electric energy and eco-driving techniques. The Riviera Electric Challenge has grown beyond a simple competition to become a significant cultural and environmental event, attracting international attention and celebrating the collective spirit of environmental advocacy.

Representing Monaco, three teams from the City Hall are participating, including an all-female team led by Deputy Mayor Karyn Ardisson Salopek, with Chief Inspector Christelle de Santi of the Municipal Police. The involvement of these teams, alongside additional City Hall staff volunteers and Deputy Mayor Jacques Pastor's contributions to the race's organization, underscore Monaco's continued commitment to environmental sustainability and the promotion of electric mobility.
