Monaco Government Invites Businesses to Register for Public Procurement Opportunities

The Monegasque government has initiated an invitation to businesses, both local and international, to register in the Register of Economic Operators, enabling them to bid for state public procurement projects. The announcement, made via Monaco's official Facebook page, represents a modernized approach to governmental communication, moving away from traditional press announcements. This registry is designed to organize economic operators by their connection to the Principality and their potential engagements with various government entities, each subject to specific consultation thresholds.

Interested businesses are required to submit a comprehensive set of documents that include administrative details, prior experience, financial and technical capacity, and evidence of past work quality. Application packs are accessible online and via post, with separate processes outlined for Monaco-based companies and international entities on respective registration links. The deadline for submission of all necessary documents is set for December 20, 2024.

Despite the introduction of a hybrid digital-paper application system, the absence of a fully digital process is noticeable, especially given Monaco’s ongoing efforts towards bureaucratic modernization. This open call is a significant step towards increasing transparency and widening access in the public procurement process, offering substantial opportunities for companies aiming to collaborate with the Monegasque government.
