Monaco Government Alerts Residents to Judicial Email Phishing Scams

Monaco’s Directorate of Judicial Services has issued a warning to the public regarding a series of sophisticated phishing emails that are falsely sent under the name of Éric Arella, the Director of Public Safety. These fraudulent emails claim to involve the recipients in non-existent legal proceedings and often evade detection by standard spam filters. The government urges citizens to be vigilant as these messages may include severe but unfounded criminal charges, such as false accusations of sexual offences.

The fraudulent campaign seeks to trick individuals into providing personal and sensitive information. Monaco’s authorities strongly discourage residents from engaging with these emails, including refraining from clicking on any included links or opening attachments. Instead, those who receive these emails should forward them to the dedicated email address, cyber@gouv.mc, and then mark the emails as spam before permanently deleting them from their systems.

In a related development, Monaco Telecom has also issued an alert about a separate phishing scheme that misuses its brand to deceive customers. The company has encouraged customers to report any suspicious communications they encounter. Together, these warnings highlight the ongoing need to remain cautious about digital security and to proactively protect personal information against cyber threats.
