On the evening of November 6, 2024, Monaco's fire service swiftly addressed a significant fire at 148 Avenue du Trois-Septembre in Cap-d’Ail, where a building containing a garage and a studio under renovation was ablaze. The fire, visible from several hundred meters away, prompted the deployment of around twenty firefighters from Monaco, who acted quickly to control the flames and prevent any spread to adjacent structures.
The effective response of the firefighters ensured the safety of local residents, as they evacuated four individuals from a nearby building without any injuries reported. Initial witness accounts noted a loud explosion, leading to suspicions that a gas cylinder might have been the cause of the fire. This initial theory is part of ongoing investigations by the authorities.
The fire was successfully managed and declared "under control" by 10:40 p.m., allowing emergency teams to proceed with safety inspections. The presence of Xavier Beck, the mayor of Cap-d’Ail, and gendarmes from the Alpes-Maritimes highlighted the coordinated effort among local authorities to manage the emergency efficiently. The professionalism displayed by Monaco's firefighters was instrumental in averting a potential disaster, underscoring their crucial role in community safety.
