In observance of the International Day to End Violence Against Women on November 25, Monaco has launched a significant digital media campaign through the collaborative efforts of Fight Aids Monaco, SheCanHeCan, and the Committee for the Promotion and Protection of Women’s Rights. This campaign, prominently displayed both online and at bus stops throughout Monaco, seeks to increase awareness and motivate citizens to advocate for gender equality and take definitive action against violence towards women.
This year marks the fifth consecutive annual campaign, which uniquely involves prominent male leaders from the Monegasque community. Among the ambassadors are Minister of State Didier Guillaume, Thomas Brezzo, President of the National Council; Louis Ducruet, President of the Barbagiuans football club; and Pierre Frolla, a renowned free immersion diver. These influential figures feature in brief 10-second video clips at their respective workplaces, each delivering powerful messages against sexism and violence towards women.
The initiative underscores the pivotal role that men and boys play in the fight against gender-based violence. By leveraging their influential positions, these ambassadors help foster a broader societal commitment to eradicating such violence and achieving gender equality in Monaco. The campaign is supported by Monaco’s Direction of Communication, reinforcing the principality's commitment to these crucial social issues.
