
Monaco Commemorates Chinese New Year and Thirty Years of Diplomatic Relations with China

Monaco celebrated the Chinese New Year with a grand gala at the Fairmont Monte Carlo, marking the Year of the Wood Snake and commemorating 30 years of diplomatic relations with China. The event, organized by the Monaco-China Association, was attended by members of Monaco’s Chinese community, local dignitaries, and cultural aficionados, united in friendship and cultural appreciation.
The gala featured an array of Chinese cultural traditions, including performances, workshops, and gastronomic experiences, highlighting the rich heritage of China. The evening was adorned with red and gold decorations, symbolizing good fortune and joy, and included performances by local students studying Chinese, enhancing the cultural bridge between the two nations.
Marie-Pascale Boisson, Monaco’s Ambassador to China, underscored the significance of the longstanding relationship, pointing to successful collaborations in trade, tourism, environmental initiatives, and education. She noted the strategic future projects aimed at deepening ties through economic missions and international exhibitions, reinforcing the shared commitment to a prosperous future for both countries.
