In a recent press conference, Monaco's City Council, led by Mayor Georges Marsan and City Councillor Georges Gambarini, announced the ongoing transition from traditional paper billboards to digital displays across the city. This move aligns with the principality's environmental goals to minimize its carbon footprint and enhance urban aesthetics. The shift has already seen the removal of 17 traditional billboards, replaced by energy-efficient LED screens designed to integrate seamlessly into the urban landscape while maintaining controlled brightness levels.
Mayor Marsan emphasized the importance of billboards harmonizing with their surroundings without compromising the city's beauty. The new digital billboards are part of a broader strategy to blend ecological responsibility with urban development. This initiative not only supports the environment but also respects the visual experience of both residents and visitors in Monaco.
Aside from environmental benefits, the digital transformation of advertising is also a crucial economic component. Councillor Gambarini pointed out the significant role these billboards play in supporting local businesses and contributing to the community's budget. The revenue generated from digital advertising is vital for funding various municipal projects and promoting economic vitality within Monaco, showing a balanced approach to meeting both ecological and financial objectives while enhancing the quality of life in the principality.
