From November 5 to 10, the entrepreneurial spirit of Monaco was prominently displayed at the China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai, where 17 Monegasque companies seized the opportunity to engage with the expansive Chinese market. This prestigious event attracted over 400,000 Chinese buyers and featured 3,500 exhibitors from 130 countries, offering a significant platform for Monaco's diverse sectors, including renewable energy, real estate, luxury jewellery, and agri-food products.
The Monaco Pavilion, strategically positioned near the China Pavilion, emerged as a focal point of innovation and culture, drawing significant attention with standout participants such as ASM FC and APM Monaco. The pavilion's activities were enhanced by a series of bespoke events, including a conference on “Sustainability & Luxury” led by Estelle Dinh from the International University of Monaco, and a networking cocktail hosted by La Distillerie de Monaco.
Highlighting the importance of the event, Marie-Pascale Boisson, Monaco’s Ambassador to China, described the expo as a vital platform for Monegasque businesses to forge and deepen ties with Chinese counterparts. The successful participation was further bolstered by insights from Mrs. Feng Hsu, Monaco’s Consul in Shanghai, who provided participants with valuable strategies for navigating the Chinese market. This venture not only challenged but also affirmed Monaco’s robust presence in one of the globe’s most vibrant economies.
