The government of Monaco is taking proactive measures following a potential dengue case reported in a nearby department linked through professional connections to the Principality. In response, a mosquito eradication campaign, organized by the Mediterranean Interdepartmental Mosquito Control Agency (EID), will be conducted in Monaco-Ville. This preventive action is scheduled for the nights of September 2nd to 3rd and September 5th to 6th, specifically between 02:00 and 04:00 AM.
During the scheduled mosquito control operations, Monaco-Ville residents are urged to keep their windows closed and to avoid outdoor activities around the Rock during the operational hours. The control measures are a precaution to ensure public health and safety amidst the suspected dengue case.
The health authorities assure that the substances used in the mosquito control efforts are safe for humans, though they might cause minor discomfort or irritation temporarily. The community is encouraged to comply with the guidelines during the specified times to facilitate effective control of the mosquito population and to prevent the spread of dengue within the Principality.
