Monaco authorities have initiated a probe into an attempted murder after a man in his forties was discovered with stab injuries on Sunday evening in the Moneghetti district. Found near Lamarck Square, the victim was urgently taken to Pasteur Hospital in Nice, where he underwent surgery and is now in stable condition, according to Monaco Public Prosecutor’s Office.
The incident, which took place around 21:30 on December 1, prompted a swift response from Monaco Public Security services following a distress call about a "bloodied individual lying on the ground but conscious." The victim, who works in Monaco and resides in Beausoleil, suffered wounds to his abdomen and thigh.
Following the incident, police promptly detained a suspect, a French national in his thirties, within Monegasque borders, charging him with attempted murder. The judicial police division of Monaco’s Public Security Service is actively investigating to determine the relationship between the suspect and the victim and the motive behind the attack.
