Monaco and Neighboring Mayors Convene to Tackle Regional Transportation Issues

In a significant gathering at the National Council, President Thomas Brezzo convened with local mayors including Xavier Beck, Patrick Cesari, Gerard Spinelli, and Jean-Jacques Raffaele, alongside Monaco Mayor Georges Marsan, to deliberate on transportation hurdles impacting the region. The session, which also saw participation from Fabrice Notari and Franck Lobono, aimed at addressing the challenges faced by thousands commuting daily to Monaco, particularly amidst the ongoing disruptions in TER train services and the closure of the vital tunnel linking Monaco to the A8 highway.

During the discussions, frustrations were voiced unanimously about the insufficient communication regarding these transport disruptions, which have severely affected the daily commute, leaving many without viable alternatives. The officials recognized the necessity to act swiftly to mitigate the adverse impacts on commuters' quality of life and agreed on a set of actions aimed at enhancing transport and urban planning. These measures include upgrading urban infrastructure and road networks to facilitate easier and more sustainable access to the Principality.

The meeting concluded with President Brezzo assuring that the insights and recommendations from the discussion would be presented to the Monegasque government, advocating for collaborative efforts with French authorities to align future developments with the needs of all stakeholders. The officials also resolved to maintain ongoing dialogue through regular meetings to continue refining strategies addressing these critical regional issues.
