In a significant development for Monaco's scientific community, the Centre Scientifique de Monaco (CSM) has entered into a strategic partnership with France’s Institut National de la Santé et de Recherche Médicale (INSERM). The collaboration was officially commemorated on February 7, 2025, at the Ministry of State with notable attendees including Christophe Robino, Minister of Social Affairs and Health; Lionel Beffre, Minister of the Interior; Professor Patrick Rampal, President of CSM; and Professor Didier Samuel, CEO of INSERM. This alliance heralds the establishment of the Monaco Clinical Research Infrastructure Network (M-CRIN), aimed at integrating Monaco’s medical research capabilities with the broader French and European clinical research networks.
The newly launched M-CRIN will facilitate the incorporation of Monaco's researchers and medical professionals into France’s national clinical research infrastructure, F-CRIN. Since its inception in 2012, F-CRIN has significantly boosted France's position in global clinical research, focusing on major diseases such as Parkinson’s, multiple sclerosis, and cardiovascular ailments. Through this integration, M-CRIN is poised to augment Monaco's research resources, offering enhanced training, regulatory support, and opportunities to participate in cutting-edge medical trials.
This partnership is strategically positioned to foster multinational collaboration and elevate Monaco’s profile in international medical research. M-CRIN will serve as a crucial conduit for clinical investigations, connecting local researchers with a network of prestigious European specialists. The initiative is not only expected to streamline the execution of research protocols in Monaco but also to attract top-tier medical talent, positioning the Principality as a pivotal player in global scientific advancement.
