On Saturday, September 21, Monaco will strengthen its cultural bonds with Dolceacqua, Italy, through a Twinning Walk, inviting residents to explore picturesque Italian villages and celebrate shared regional ties. The event kicks off in Dolceacqua’s Piazza Mauro, with carpooling options available from Monaco. Participants will be briefed and provided with snacks at 8:15 AM, setting the stage for a scenic two-hour hike to Perinaldo, culminating in a tour of the village’s historic castle.
The journey continues with a 75-minute walk to Apricale, where participants will enjoy a lunch and village tour at 13:00. The day's activities will proceed to Isolabona for another castle visit, with the entire excursion wrapping up by 17:00 in Dolceacqua. In alignment with World Clean Up Day, attendees will also engage in an environmental initiative to collect waste along the walking route.
Monaco residents interested in participating in this enriching cultural exchange can secure their spots by emailing communication@mairie.mc. This event not only promises a day of exploration and camaraderie but also reinforces the principality’s commitment to fostering international relationships and environmental stewardship.
