Monaco Aeronauts Elevate National Pride at 35th Mondovi Balloon Festival

The Aeronauts of Monaco showcased their national pride at the 35th International Hot Air Balloon Festival in Mondovi from January 4 to 6. This prestigious event, a blend of sport and spectacle, drew large crowds to the Aéroclub de Mondovi and throughout the scenic town of Piedmont. Monaco's balloon, piloted by Alain Cruteanschii, navigated challenging weather conditions to soar up to 1,000 meters, its distinctive presence a highlight among the international entries.

The flights required precise coordination, from the inflation of the balloon at the outset to the careful landings. Communication between ground teams and pilots was key to ensuring each ascent and descent proceeded without incident. The festival also featured a captivating "night show," where illuminated balloons, including Monaco’s, dazzled spectators by lighting up the evening sky, though remaining tethered to the ground.

Alain Cruteanschii, President of the Aeronauts Club of Monaco, acknowledged the significance of the event, emphasizing the deep-rooted connection and camaraderie with Mondovi. The participation of the Monaco balloon in this annual festival underscores a cherished tradition of friendship and cultural exchange with their Italian counterparts.
