Minor Fire at Mareterra Site in Monaco Quickly Contained by Firefighters

A minor blaze occurred on Tuesday evening at the Mareterra district construction site in Monaco, quickly contained with the aid of onsite workers and local firefighting teams. The incident, which started on a balcony of an apartment under construction within the upscale development, drew immediate attention from residents of the nearby Larvotto area. Monaco's fire department responded by deploying 20 personnel, five vehicles, and a reconnaissance drone to ensure the fire was controlled and to prevent any risk of spread.

The fire, attributed to accumulated rubbish, was extinguished before the firefighters' arrival, underscoring effective preliminary handling by the construction site workers. This prompt action averted potential damage to what is poised to become one of Monaco's most prestigious neighbourhoods. The local fire services remained on site to conduct a thorough assessment, ensuring the area was secure and that there were no residual risks to the community or the construction project.

The Mareterra development continues to emphasize safety as a paramount concern, especially following a recent incident last September where a 58-year-old worker was rescued and hospitalized following a work-related accident. As the Mareterra district progresses towards completion, maintaining stringent safety standards is essential to protect both the workers and the integrity of the future neighborhood.
