Mediterranean Cultures United in Symphony at UNESCO Paris Event

In a significant cultural event at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, the 'Mediterranean Symphony' concert was recently held, showcasing the collaborative spirit of Monaco, Greece, Egypt, and Morocco. Organized by the Permanent Representations of these nations, the concert featured the compositions of Evanthia Reboutsika, a renowned composer known for her music that echoes the shared heritage of Mediterranean cultures. The event, which drew a large audience in UNESCO's grand hall, was presented by Greek-born actor Georges Corraface.

The evening's performance beautifully illustrated the cultural interconnectedness of the Mediterranean region, blending musical narratives that span from the Balkans to North Africa. The concert included poignant performances by a Greek and a Moroccan vocalist, whose harmonious collaboration highlighted the power of music to transcend linguistic and cultural barriers, promoting a message of peace and unity among nations.

This cultural diplomacy event, held shortly after the announcement of a ceasefire in Gaza, resonated deeply with the attendees as a call for peaceful coexistence. The collaboration among the four Mediterranean countries at such a prestigious venue underlines the role of arts in fostering international harmony and celebrating diverse cultural identities. Monaco's participation, represented by HE Mrs. Anne-Marie Boisbouvier, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, and Permanent Delegate of the Principality of Monaco, exemplifies the principality's commitment to promoting cultural diplomacy and global peace.
