Marc Mourou Launches Génération Monaco to Reshape Principality's Future

On Monday, February 3, Marc Mourou introduced Génération Monaco at the Novotel Monte-Carlo, emphasizing the urgency for early engagement in Monaco’s political scene. As a former National Council member, Mourou highlighted that Génération Monaco aims to initiate meaningful dialogue and construct a robust platform well ahead of the national elections due in three years. The movement, represented by both seasoned politicians and new contributors, intends to foster ongoing engagement with Monegasques, addressing their needs proactively rather than through intermittent campaign pledges.

Mourou, alongside figures like Aude Berlin and former council members Pierre Van Klaveren and Jean-Charles Emmerich, outlined the movement’s commitment to continuous improvement in key areas such as healthcare accessibility and educational reform. They plan to hold regular public meetings to involve the community directly in policy formulation. The focus is on reducing wait times for medical specialists and enhancing the educational system by potentially rethinking the school day structure to balance well-being with academic achievement.

Génération Monaco also aims to address broader societal issues such as wage equality and parental leave, drawing inspiration from Northern European models to enhance support for families and working parents. Mourou’s vision for Monaco involves not just immediate political gains but fostering a long-term sustainable environment that continues to attract and retain talent by adapting policies to the evolving needs of its residents.
