International German Club of Monaco Members Privately Tour Mougins Old Village

In a delightful display of community and culture, the International German Club of Monaco recently organized an exclusive outing for its members to the historic Old Village of Mougins. Co-President Patrick Wetzel and his wife, Yu-Ra, hosted this special event, continuing the Club's tradition of members inviting one another to private gatherings. Mougins, known for its Roman origins and unique circular alleys, has been a magnet for notable artists and celebrities like Pablo Picasso and culinary legends such as Alain Ducasse.

The highlight of the visit was a private tour of the newly inaugurated FAMM museum, dedicated to women artists. The museum, which opened its doors last June, houses an impressive collection owned by financier and philanthropist Christian Levett. It features a diverse array of artworks spread across four floors, including pieces by renowned artists such as Frida Kahlo and Lee Krasner, offering a profound insight into the contributions of women in the art world.

The cultural excursion concluded with a luncheon at “La Place de Mougins,” where Chef Denis Fetisson had crafted a bespoke gastronomic experience for the group. The meal, complemented by a welcoming glass of champagne, provided a perfect setting for lively discussions and new culinary discoveries among the attendees. Carmen Schall, Vice-President of the Club, expressed gratitude to the Wetzels for their generosity, marking the event a memorable success for the participating members.
