Former Harrods Staff Accuse Salah Fayed of Assaults in Monaco, France

Three former employees of Harrods have accused Salah Fayed, the brother of the late Mohamed Al-Fayed, of committing rape during the period when the Al-Fayed family owned the iconic London department store. According to a recent BBC report, the alleged incidents spanned from 1989 to 1997 and took place in various locations including London, Monaco, and the south of France. One of the accusers, identified only as Helen, has claimed that she was assaulted by both Mohamed and Salah Fayed, detailing a particularly harrowing experience of being transferred to work directly under Salah where she was subsequently drugged and raped.

The allegations extend to Monaco, where one victim recounted waking up to find Salah Fayed entering her bed, instilling a deep sense of fear. Another spoke of assaults in both Monaco and London, painting a disturbing picture of manipulation and drug introduction by Salah Fayed. These serious claims come after both brothers have passed away, with Salah dying from cancer in 2010 and Mohamed earlier in 2023. Despite their deaths, the London Metropolitan Police have confirmed their awareness of the allegations and are currently reviewing all pertinent evidence.

The accusations have reignited scrutiny following a BBC documentary aired in September, which focused on similar claims against Mohamed Al-Fayed, leading to over 420 individuals contacting the support group Justice for Harrods Survivors. This has prompted a re-examination of 21 testimonies by police to evaluate previous investigative efforts. In response to these troubling revelations, Harrods' current management has publicly supported the victims, urging them to pursue justice and compensation.
