The prestigious Port Hercule Regatta, now in its fifth edition, took place on February 16th, featuring a robust turnout of 250 competitors from 18 clubs across the region and beyond. Although the event saw a slight decline in participants due to the overlap with school holidays, it retained its allure, drawing skilled rowers from Spain, Italy, and the United Kingdom, enhancing its status within the Eurometre Challenge.
The Monaco Nautical Society (SNM), a powerhouse in French rowing and the reigning champion in the French Rowing Federation club rankings for both 2023 and 2024, was a prominent participant. SNM entered 19 boats, which competed fiercely across various categories. Notable victories included Louis Fontanil and Guillaume Blanc in the senior double sculls and a commendable win by the SNM's J16 four-man crew, underscoring the depth of the club’s talent.
This year's Regatta not only served as an excellent preparatory event for the upcoming French Championships but also reinforced SNM’s reputation as France’s leading rowing club. The competitors benefited from ideal weather conditions, contributing to a spirited atmosphere buoyed by international camaraderie. The event concluded with SNM securing multiple podium finishes, marking yet another successful chapter in the annals of the Port Hercule Regatta.
