Ferrari's quest for the Constructors' Championship concluded in disappointment at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, despite valiant efforts by drivers Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz. The team, trailing McLaren by 21 points before the race, could not close the gap despite Sainz's second-place finish and Leclerc's climb from 19th to fifth. Ultimately, Ferrari ended the season 14 points behind McLaren, despite outscoring them in the final race, collecting 33 points to McLaren's 26.
The race not only marked a missed opportunity for Ferrari but also the end of Leclerc and Sainz's partnership, with Sainz moving to Williams next season. Over their four years together, the duo achieved five race wins and amassed 652 points, demonstrating a strong collaboration. Reflecting on their tenure, Leclerc highlighted their mutual drive and expressed regret over not clinching the constructors' title in their final season as teammates.
Looking ahead, Ferrari is set to welcome Lewis Hamilton, who will join Leclerc for the 2025 campaign. The team remains optimistic about returning to championship contention, building on the strong performances and lessons learned from the 2024 season. Meanwhile, the Formula 1 community anticipates the potential dynamics and strategies with Hamilton's inclusion in the team.
