Europa-Park, Germany's largest amusement park, has announced plans for its latest expansion: a Monaco-themed district set to open in 2026. This new area, marking the park’s 18th themed district, will recreate the glamour and distinctive atmosphere of Monaco, aligning with the park’s celebration of its 50th anniversary. The announcement was made in the commemorative book "50 Years of Europa-Park – The Magical Moments," which detailed that this new district would be situated at the entrance of the park.
This new Monaco district aims to offer visitors a taste of the principality’s renowned attractions including the Formula 1 Grand Prix circuit, the opulent Monte Carlo Casino, and the scenic Mediterranean port. Enhancing its appeal, the district will also feature the Silver Star roller coaster, one of the park’s most exhilarating rides, known for its dramatic 73-meter drop, which will be rebranded to fit the Monaco theme.
The initiative to integrate a Monaco-themed area stems from the longstanding relationship between the park's founders, the Mack family, and Monaco's Prince Albert II. This connection was highlighted when Roland Mack was appointed Ambassador of Circus 2025 by Prince Albert II at the Monte-Carlo Circus Festival. This thematic venture reflects a mutual respect and cultural exchange, promising to bring a slice of Monegasque flair to the heart of Europe.
